A container for electrical and electronic waste is not only function, but also modern and environmentally friendly. JSC “Entech group” has set a goal to change the old containers for electrical and electronic equipment waste with modern containers that have attractive design and are made from environmentally friendly materials.
While implementing the contract concluded with the Ministry of Environment, JSC “EMP recycling” creates a network for collecting waste of small electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) in Lithuania. JSC “Entech group” task was to create a modern, durable, and attractive container for such waste. The analysis of utility waste showed that around 2000 tons of broken electrical and electronic equipment are brought to the landfills. Therefore, the goal of this project is not only to continue developing a habit to sort, create and provide a convenient service, but also significantly reduce the amount of EEE waste that is brought to the landfills.
Usually, people disposed electrical and electronic equipment together with an old refrigerator or a stove, but it is very rare that people would call the company’s “waste taxi” in order to dispose a kettle or a broken laptop. Now, people will be able to dispose these devices on their way to work, school, or a meeting. The containers were designed and manufactured with the help of JSC “Entech group” designers, constructors, and manufacturers by following the principles of eco-design. The container had to be not only convenient, but also modern, inconspicuous, and suit the environment. Also, it was very important that it would be made from recycled and recyclable materials. The theme of the container’s design is modernity, functionality, and of course, ecology.
Liutauras Byčius, a Managing Director of JSC “Entech group”, express his opinion on the new containers: “The walls of this container is made from materials of the new technologies: composite of plastic-aluminum. It ensures lightness and durability. We created a modern design for this product. It is quite big (size is about 1 cubic meter), but visually it looks smaller due to its specific form. It is used in offices and public institutions. The container is not only functional, but also perfectly blends with the environment and does not stand out.”
